Inspiration

Situated on the premier island of Al Maryah, the Rosewood Abu Dhabi is surrounded by the glistening Arabian Gulf yet grounded by the vast desert. The interior spaces of the five-star 189-key and 137 residential unit property take cues from this local topography as well as local culture, merging the vastness of the desert’s white sand dunes with the crystal blue of the Arabian Sea. Throughout the design, soft tonal colors inspired by the textural essence of the desert landscape are balanced by pops of blues and greens symbolizing the sea. A layering of materials and contrast of finishes arouses the senses with a tactile experience, while indigenous artwork, sculpture and accessories instill a sense of place. Designed while at BBGM/HOK.
